This track is about the fickle mistress to whom we are all so devoted no matter how many times she stands us up. Creativity comes when she pleases, and on her own time. It is also a celebration of people who have the courage to reinvent themselves later in life. The people we have been don't always want to leave the table without a bit of... um... encouragement.

We wrote “The Curious One” as a reminder to ourselves to always set a place at the table for Inspiration, and not to take it so damned personally when she doesn’t show up.

The song itself went through an incredible transformation at the hands of Jon Evans, our sometimes invisible (but definitely not silent) partner. When we went to California in early July we left him with nothing but basic tracks (violin, vocals, drum programming and Fender Rhodes). When he sent it back to us, it had evolved into the full-blown sonic adventure you hear here. Here, here!
