This is a meditation on the screens that seem to be sucking our collective souls out through our eyeballs. It is also an exercise in verbal efficiency.

The chorus repeats a phrase, "we are falling off our feet... into the blue, blue light." The term "falling off our feet" comes from the film "We Still Live Here," about Jessie Little Doe Baird and the revival of the Wampanoag language. She uses the phrase in reference to the experience of the Wampanoag people being separated from their land.

The sense of falling off our feet describes also, the physical sense of feeling un-grounded - literally not connecting to the earth. The more we engage with the virtual disembodied world through our screens, the more un-grounded we become.

Carla Kihlstedt = quality music, to me. This is excellent creative music, wonderfully recorded and mixed, probably my fave for 2017.
