Spines 04:18
Hope you're feeling better Dreams record her terror Winter has come Black night cover me Blankets smother me Stitches hold her Rock her shoulders Black holes mold her They cast her downward Dreams record her terror Winter has come Put this picture in a box And hide it in between the walls So you'll find the elegance of these My sad pathetic falls from grace

Paradise 03:49
Step aside so I can run away Moldy copy of a renegade Please wait, the gate is locked. The dogs will surely kill you, It's like they never knew you. Slam, slam, Forgot the key to paradise. Leper colony certificate Epileptic reconnaissance bullshit Enduring pockets of recompense A ghoulish cipher of innocence. Please wait, the gate is locked. The dogs will surely kill you, It's like they never knew you. Slam, slam, Forgot the key to paradise. Can't see the stars from the bottom shelf Show me the scars that I made myself Slides like butter Whispers quiet like a shutter Heart splatter Pancake matter in the frozen arcade Please wait The gate is locked The dogs will surely kill you It's like they never knew you Slam Slam Forgot the key to paradise

The Animal I Am Snap back! The heat stings like ice. Time slows so we move faster underneath our skin. Inside, the path is frictionless, we slip again, no footing on this fictional device. I chase your love, a bird, a deer, my dear, I dare to hold my hand so still and still you wince a tiny tremor travels, chases you away. Outside your fur stands on end. Come back! Retract your claws, hide your teeth in watering jaws. I chase your love, a bird, a deer, my dear, I dare to hold my hand so still and still you wince a tiny tremor travels, chasing you, my breath betrays my body, charged with love and hate and heat and sorrow, hold my hand so still, and still you smell the animal I am.

The Linen Sea This is the silence in which things die. This is the stillness in which love seizes and hides alone So cross the sea and dance with me... So cross the sea to dance with me. This is the distance across which I pine for you. This is the darkness that harbors villains and gods and theives. So send a boat, a scout, a sailor, a soldier, a paddle, a barrel and a small ration of hope. Dance, baby, dance! Dance til you shake! Dance, baby, dance! Dance til you break! Break on the coast, coast on the wind, wind me around and around til I’m spinning. A sail is a sheet, a sheet is a shroud, a shroud is a cloud that hides all the guides in the sky. I am lost now. I am lost now. I am lost. This is the silence in which things grow. This is the stillness in which love shivers and opens slow. So cross the sea and dance with me. So cross the sea to dance with me. Dance, baby, dance! Dance, baby, dance! Dance til you shake! Shake til you break! Break on the coast of me. I’ll break on the coast of you.

Fireflower 03:32
Who planted you? Who planted you here? Were you carried on the wind, fliers dropping from above, landing silently embedding in my heart while I sleep. Poison seeps into my veins, tendrills feeding on the fear. It grows taller by the day, hate reaching up for the sun. Who planted you? Who planted you here? Open the canopy, let the sun in. It's a battle of wills. It's a figure of speech. But you hate to be wrong and you long to be loathed. And you bathe in the glow of your flame, the flame, the flame, the fame, the fireflower! Fireflower, you're strangling me! Follow the stem down and pull it out by the root. Who planted you? Who planted you here? Poison sucks up in my veins, tendrills feeding on the fear. It grows taller by the day, hate reaching up to the sky. If I let it, it will come, sweet and warm, the liquid sun. Closing tight around my lungs, my hands, my mouth. Fireflower, you're strangling me! Follow the stem down and pull it out by the root.

My Last Poem 02:56
My Last Poem By Manuel Bandeira Translation by Elizabeth Bishop I would like my last poem thus That it be gentle saying the simplest and least intended things That it be ardent like a tearless sob That it have the beauty of almost scentless flowers The purity of the flame in which the most limpid diamonds are consumed The passion of suicides who kill themselves without explanation. “My Last Poem” by Manuel Bandeira, translated by Elizabeth Bishop from POEMS by Elizabeth Bishop. Tell me you need me. Tell me you want me still. Tell me we’re good, we’re good, we’re good... Find the end of the string and pull. Take my hand. Let’s walk along and count the stars. Let’s count the stars, pretend they’re ours cuz baby, we’re all alone now. We’re all alone together. Kill the king and the queen cuz they’re just anguished and mean. It’s time to beat the drums. Destroy the things we thought we loved the best, cuz baby, it’s all sand and we are alone now. We are alone. We are together. Come on, lover, tell me you need me. Tell me you love me still. Tell me you want me. Let’s burn it all. We’re good, we’re good, we’re good... Let’s burn it all and start again. Find the edge of the world and jump. Close your eyes, feel your heavy body falling. We are light again. We’ll never land alone. We’re not alone, together. We’re good, we’re good, we’re good...

Radial Life 03:22
Go away. Walk farther away. Go. It’s OK. I’m here in my hub. Now my eyes drift farther apart. I see defensively. I am pray. I’m praying. Dress the part. Look terribly smart. It’s no good. We’re paper dolls. We fall when the wind blows. Now we’re down. Feel the cool of the ground. Your fingers have eyes. You are radial. We are radial life. Go away. Walk farther away. It’s OK. I am here.

Carapace 04:04
Twist a whisper round until it burns. Hush your mighty whimper. Hold it til it hurts. Carapace. Bury your loneliness. Engrave it in the sand. The slow stream of love beneath the floor carves against the grain. Carapace I dissolved myself in water in a dream that hardened when I woke. I choked on air as solid as a block of ice, preserving for all time the way you curl round my arm, the fight forgotten for a while. Carapace Twist a whisper, follow where it leads. Follow underneath. Take it back. Take me back. All of the softness melts away, Carapace. The shell remains another day, Carapace.

All We Have of You We only know what we have heard. The stories and the facts, absurd. The line you drew around the earth, All we have of you. a box, a cup, a yard, a tree, a quilt, a ring, a cloth, a plate, a trunk, a date, a name, a house, a dog, a recipe, a box of letters, a photograph, a bell, a spoon, a stamp, a date, a name... If I’m wrong, I’m sorry. It’s the only way to see now. If I’m wrong. If I’m wrong, please forgive. It keeps you part of me. I don’t care if it’s lies. Now you’re here. The day you led the boys to win. The box you packed when time ran out. The dress you wore, your silver hair. All we have of you.

When did I forget I know how to fall? Do you remember how we used to lean? Lean on me now. I brace myself against the black and blue I know will come. I hold my breath. I hold my hope. I hold my love away from you. I hold myself upright and alone. I used to be soft. I'm brittle and stone. I'd rather feel. I'd rather fall. I'd rather go go down and break and break every bone. When did I forget I know how to fall?
